Young children seem to have a fascination with fossils and dinosaurs. This board helped the team develop inspiring science based lessons to explore concepts such as observation, investigation and experimentation.
We found that this helped create new games with the use of natural materials and props set up in small world scenes for both indoor & outdoor use. One of the successful ideas we implemented was to create fossils by freezing little figurines of dinosaurs and using malleable materials to represent the environment they used to live in. Furthermore this lesson provided the means to support children in maths exploration.
